"Choppy Seas"
8" x 8" oil on limestone tile

The sea is a wonderful subject to paint. There are many more dark values in the water than we think. I use a muxture of Prussian blue and Van Dyke Brown to achieve the deepest value of the waves, adding Indian Red and Yellow Ochre when needed.

This painting is done on tile and can be hung on the wall or used with the easel that can be attached to the back.
